London Aquatics Centre
The London Aquatics Centre is one of the most technologically advanced and stunning swimming facilities in the World and home of the 2012 London Legacy, the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
In 2012, the spectacular London Aquatics Centre, designed by architect Zaha Hadid and S&P, provided the breath taking backdrop to countless world records.
The venue consists of a variety of facilities to accommodate all visitors. There are three swimming pools, a 50 metre competition pool, a 50 metre training pool, and the third is the diving pool with platforms at 1m - 10m. In addition, the London Aquatics Centres provides a modern gym, a dry diving facility and family friendly changing facilities.
Sports specialist Architects S&P brought together the specification for the internal changing fit out of the centre. Prospec’s longstanding and close working relationship with S&P was critical in the creation of a new cubicle system, Marathon Conform, specially designed for the build. Our knowledge of S&P’s work ethic and exacting standards was critical when working together to ensure every aesthetic detail of Marathon Conform was in line with the project, and the engineering was significantly robust to cope with the high use and demands of the centre during the games and legacy.
